Battlefield 4 weapons - What I spotted at Gamescom

Weapons spotted at EA Press Conference

In an effort to get a few extra bits of information squeezed out of EA's press event this afternoon, I watched the Battlefield 4 footage over and over. I think I spotted (blurry feed or blurry internet connection) some of the weapons in the upcoming title.

While some of them we knew about a few caught me by surprise. Take a look and let me know what I got wrong or missed out.

AK-12 Assault Rifle

Already seen in the Alpha footage at E3 this year, the AK-12 is the modern version of the AK-47, with the Russian army looking to use it as their primary weapon following testing.

QJY-88 also known as the Type 88 Light Machine Gun

Chinese light machine gun already present in the Battlefield series.

Heckler and Koch MG4

German Light Machine Gun first adopted in 2005 by the German armed forces as thier standard platoon-level support weapon.

AK 5C Assault Rifle

Variation of the AK 5, which is itself a Swedish version of the FN FNC assault rifle. Also the main assault rifle for the Swedish armed forces.

Type 85 Submachine Gun

Chinese submachine gun, standard issue for PLA soldiers.

Kel-Tec RFB

RFB stands for Rifle, Forward Projecting (spent cartridges are projected forward) and Bullpup (due to the "action" being behind the trigger). Originally designed in Florida, this weapon went to market in 2009.

Type 95B-1 or QBZ-95B-1

The QBZ-95 is a weapon most people know of in Battlefield 3. The Type 95B-1 is the updated, carbine version of the weapon. Currently used by frontline soldiers in Chinas PLA. Also expect to see the rifle version of this weapon, the QBZ-95-1, the direct replacement for the QBZ-95.

Heckler & Koch G36C

Variant on the G36, the G36C (C for compact) is classed as a subcarbine with adjustments made to the function and build in order to make it smaller. Used all over the world in military use, a lot of police forces choose this weapon for their tactical units.

Barrett M82 variant M82A3

Barrett M82A3 semi-automatic rifle. New production rifles built to M82A1M specifications. This variant of the M82 is used by the United States Marine Corp.

CV-16 Aircraft Carrier

CV-16 appears in the kill feed, which I thought was the designation of an old aircraft carrier, the USS Lexington, is actually a designation for the Chinese aircraft carrier used to launch the J-20 fighter jet, a new addition to the Battlefield franchise.

DV-15

It looks like I was reading it wrong after all. I blame blurry gameplay footage and poor internet connection, but I should of double checked. Looks like what I saw in the feed is actually a DV-15, a Interceptor patrol boat currently in use by the UAE, Qatar and Yemen military.
